Eyes up at Ryerson

September 9, 2016

I saw a call-out for artists looking to participate in Ryerson's Tumult Arts Festival. I couldn't resist clicking on that apply button. I submitted my idea for a live arts performance that would capture the spirit of the day, and voila! I was accepted as a showcasing artist.

It was such a sunny bright day, so I scouted out a spot underneath some trees so I could paint under the cool shade.

Here's a close up of the painting in progress. The sky was such a bright 💧blue hue.

I thought of how radiant the Ryerson Rams logo would look glittering in one of the ☁️clouds. And I used Ryerson's school colours, blue for the sky and yellow for the sun.

One of my favourite details? The sides that feature the pop of yellow from the sun.

So here's the finished piece! You can see the Ryerson Rams logo better in this photo. Thank you so much Ryerson Student's Union for inviting me out to participate in Tumult Arts Festival! I had such a memorable time painting. I'm looking forward to seeing your new 🎨artofCiel piece hanging on campus!
