Tears fell as I painted at the most beautiful wedding

Weddings are those once-in-a-lifetime moments when the love is palpable, I mean you can see it in the eyes of the bride and the groom, and the onlooking guests made up of close family and friends.

I've painted live for some of the most gorgeous couples, at stunning venues, and each time is an unforgettable moment, and results in a work of art that really captures the day in a way that photographs can't replicate.

There was something about this particular experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I was invited to paint live at this wedding as a gift to the bride and groom from the groom (and my own) aunt. It was a complete surprise to them that their vows would be witnessed by an artist painting the moment on canvas.

I was informed that the bride's favourite colour was royal blue, so once my dress was picked out, and the supplies were packed I was ready for the big day.

Tears came to my eyes several times throughout the evening. Witnessing the wedding of Jon and Maria. I could feel their devotion to each other, the sacredness of the day. I have to thank James McNab for taking these fabulous photos while I painted.

I'm certain everyone in the room could see that their love was the unbreakable kind. I was so honoured when I was able to present the painting with my aunt to the bride and groom at the end of the night. A special touch- the host/emcee read the letter that I wrote thanking my aunt and congratulating the newly married couple.

I was able to add the finishing touches and delivered the painting after the event. That's my signature in the right hand corner. Voila! C'est fini.
